All 23 UK towns on Putin's 'strike list' after Russia's chilling warning to Brits
Russia's latest comments about the UK carry a big threat when you consider that a leaked map has already revealed some of their biggest targets.
As the UK continues to stand beside Ukraine in the ongoing war, with Donald Trump's best attempts at arranging a peace deal sadly going to waste, it is unsurprising that those in Russia are being so vocal about bringing Britain to its knees.
Broadcasters in the eastern European country have issued a number of threats over the last few years but few have been as ominous as the recent one from Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for Vladimir Putin's Foreign Ministry.
The diplomat said: "Any British military installations and equipment in Ukraine and beyond could be the response to Ukrainian strikes using British weapons on Russian territory.

"Those guilty of war crimes, including against the civilian population of our country, will be punished according to their actions.
"Inevitable punishment awaits their accomplices and instigators, and we call on all residents of the United Kingdom to consider the inevitable catastrophic consequences of their own government's hostile actions.
"We urge the British leadership to once again thoroughly analyse the situation and immediately, decisively and unequivocally, abandon their hostile and aggressive stance."
Naturally, this already throws up a lot of concern but should Russia ever pull the trigger on a UK attack, it seems as if they already have 23 target locations locked and loaded.
You might be able to guess already that this includes areas which have factories that manufacture weapons, equipment and defence systems for the UK and also Ukraine, which means that areas such as Glasgow and Barrow-in-Furness are both likely to be targeted because of the prominent BAE systems factories in those locations.
The list was leaked by former deputy prime minister Dmitry Rogozin in the wake of comments by Britain's former defence secretary, Ben Wallace.
Back in October 2025, Wallace had urged the West to 'make Crimea uninhabitable and unviable from a Russian point of view'.
He added: "Ukraine does not need to invade the peninsula (which I concede would be incredibly difficult if not impossible), but they should choke it to death."
In response, Rogozin posted a picture which highlights potential targets in the UK, alongside a message which does little to alleviate any fears about a future conflict between the two countries.
He said: "Former British Defence Minister Ben Wallace on what Kyiv and its NATO allies should do to end the military actions: 'We must help Ukraine acquire long-range capabilities to make Crimea uninhabitable. We need to strangle Crimea'.
"What a sober minister has in mind, a former one has on his tongue. However, it is even good that they reveal their true intentions.
"It is useful to read this for those of us who still consider peace with imperialist aggressors possible.
"And my advice to our [Russian] oligarchs: do not send your children to study in England! It is deadly dangerous."
You can see the full list leaked by Rogozin below, which may well be revisited by Russia if they intend to act on their latest chilling warning.
