Vladimir Putin has been at it again with the threats, as he warned that the world was a wrong move away from possibly ending up in World War Three.
Russia's Putin has been threatening countries that he thinks won't let him invade other sovereign nations without some kind of repercussions.
The latest target of his ire is Germany, as Reuters reports that he said Russia would consider the central European country to be directly involved in his war against Ukraine if they supplied Taurus missiles to the Ukrainians.

Taurus missiles are long-range weapons launched from fighter aircraft which are effective against 'hard' targets like bridges and bunkers and can navigate without GPS which makes them a useful tool in a new era of warfare where GPS jamming is used.

They've got a longer range than the Storm Shadow missiles supplied to Ukraine by the UK and the ATACMS missiles the US has provided.
It should probably be pointed out that Germany hasn't supplied Ukraine with Taurus missiles, with their Defence Minister Boris Pistorius saying recently that the Germans had no plans to provide the Ukrainians with those weapons despite repeated requests from Ukraine for them.
So, Putin's threat against Germany not to send the weapons is him shouting at them not to do something they haven't done and said they weren't going to do.

He said: "To fire these missiles, Ukraine would need Western satellite intelligence and German officers to take care of targeting. If they were fired at Russia, that would mean German officers striking Russian territory."
Despite him getting his knickers in a twist over these missiles that haven't even been sent, Putin insisted that they wouldn't even change anything about his invasion of Ukraine anyway.

"What is this, if not the involvement of the Federal Republic in a direct armed conflict with the Russian Federation? It can't be called anything else," Putin said of the prospect of Taurus missiles being supplied to Ukraine.
Of course, that situation where Germany and Russia were in 'direct armed conflict' would allow Germany to trigger Article 5 of NATO if they so desired, and call in the rest of the alliance, which would most probably lead to WW3.

It's not the first time that Putin has dangled the threat of nuclear armageddon when he's the one who is invading other countries.
The Russian dictator claimed that Russia must climb the 'ladder of nuclear escalation' and said that while his country and the US have early warning systems should the nukes fly much of Europe doesn't.
Colonel Richard Kemp previously told LADbible that a 'Russian assault against the West' was an unlikely scenario but if NATO countries provided more help to the nation he was invading then Russia might hypothetically 'strike back against one or more NATO countries'.
Shouldn't have wished to live in more interesting times.
