A 20-year-old woman was found dead in the engine room of a yacht in the Bahamas, having been working on board the boat as a crew member.
Paige Bell would have turned 21 on 14 July but died just days before her birthday on board the vessel named Far From It while it was moored in Harbour Island.
The resort is often dubbed 'Billionaire's Backyard' as 20 billionaires are believed to have homes there, including Bill Gates. Mick Jagger, Prince Harry, Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford are also said to holiday on the island.
According to the Daily Mail, a 39-year-old Mexican national named Brigido Munoz has appeared before magistrates in Nassau and been charged with her murder.
They report that the court was told that the South African woman had slash wounds on her neck and arms, and was partially undressed and may have been sexually assaulted.
Munoz has been denied bail and remanded in custody ahead of a hearing on 20 November.
