Yung Filly found not guilty of raping woman in Australia

A jury in Australia has found Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, not guilty of rape.
The 30-year-old faced several charges in court and pleaded not guilty to them all, with a jury acquitting him of three counts of sexual penetration without consent, an assault charge over an alleged slap and a choking charge.
The jury failed to reach a verdict on three counts of sexual penetration without consent, and found him guilty of two further charges of assault occasioning bodily harm relating to biting a woman's neck and breast.

In total of the 10 charges he faced he's been found not guilty of five of them, guilty of two, and the jury did not deliver a verdict one three.
Barrientos will be in court again on 21 August where he will be given a sentencing date for the assault convictions, while prosecutors will need to decide whether or not to continue with the three charges where a jury was unable to deliver a verdict.
Yung Filly, a rapper and social media influencer, had been arrested in Brisbane in 2024 following accusations that he raped and assaulted a woman, with prosecutors alleging that he had done this to a 20-year-old woman in his hotel room while he toured Australia.
Speaking in court, Barrientos had testified he thought the 'vibes were good' when he took the woman to his hotel room and that security had taken her phone as 'standard practice'.
The woman had alleged that they had initially had consensual sex before things got violent and she told him to stop.
Barrientos said he had given her 'love bites' on her neck, breasts and face, claiming: "My mouth on her skin while sucking. My teeth were involved to some extent."
The court had been shown images of the woman with bruising across her face, neck and breasts. Forensic dentist John Marsell said some of it was likely caused by biting.
Barrientos argued that the woman had been 'grunting and moaning in a good way' and hadn't spoken during the encounter, and claimed that afterwards things had been 'good' between them and they'd been talking in bed afterwards.
Prosecutor Danielle Clarke had alleged in court that after consensual sex, Barrientos became violent and started biting and slapping the woman before raping her multiple times.
“What should have been an exciting night out meeting her celebrity crush Yung Filly was fun until it wasn’t,” the prosecutor had told the court.
It’s alleged that the woman believed she was being taken to an after-party when they first left the hotel.
Clarke had alleged that Barrientos told her to say ‘I’m Filly’s dirty whore’ during the incident but she refused.
Later, when she was getting ready to leave the hotel room, one of the rapper’s minders came in and the alleged victim allegedly heard him say that she was ‘not good in bed’.
Barrientos will now have to wait to be sentenced and hear whether he faces those three charges in court again.
