Well, after an easy month of knowing you’ve got something to talk to your colleagues about, The Celebrity Traitors has come to an end.
And while we have the regular The Traitors UK to wait for now, people are already discussing which celebs should take to the castle next.
Plenty of us were admittedly holding out for the likes of Alison Hammond or David Mitchell to don a cloak this year. But some were also apparently hoping to see Ricky Gervais give it ago.
And the comedian has issued a brutal response to fans asking to see him on The Celebrity Traitors as he reckons it would have rough consequences.

The Office star has become increasingly divisive over the years as he essentially claims being offensive is subjective.

So, I guess, bare that in mind.
One fan account shared an AI edit of Gervais in the Traitors’ turret on X as they wrote: “The BBC definitely can’t afford him but this is what the nation wants for the next series of The Celebrity Traitors.”
And the popular comedian responded: “It would be all the others that have the breakdown [laughing-face emoji].”
His fans say they ‘need it’ as one joked he: “would be out first. Noone would be able to cope with him! [wink-face emoji].”
“Couldn’t cast him as a Faithful though,” another put.
A third wrote: “Please please please … sometimes the people should get why they want!”
“Oh hell yes we’d love some of that,” a fourth posted.
There were a swathe of fans that agreed: “Do it Ricky!!!”
While others referenced his Netflix animated series and said: “Surviving an episode of Alley Cats should be one of the challenges.”
Meanwhile, another fan asked if he’d rather be a Faithful or Traitor and Gervais responded: “Don't mind. Traitor is more fun if your fellow traitors are good. But I think everyone would assume I'm a traitor anyway so I'd be out early either way.”
What do you reckon, can you imagine Gervais sticking to being a Faithful?
The star previously responded to a post about him being ‘top of the BBC wish list’ for the show and gave a very frank response.
“I love the show and I’m very flattered, but it won’t happen. I’m too busy and there’s no way they could afford me,” he wrote.
Well, he probably wouldn’t have gone down so well in the castle this year, considering he and star James Acaster have a pretty well documented rift. Acaster previously seemed to criticise Gervais in his 2019 stand-up show, having taken aim at certain comics' content.
He said: “I used to name one of the comedians that was about, in that routine, but it always got really awkward in the room because apparently in 2019 most people are still more than happy to laugh at trans people but they’re not comfortable laughing at Ricky Gervais yet. That’s the line.”
That would have made for an interesting turret...
