If you’ve ever wanted to secure a job where you don’t have to leave the comfort of your couch, look no further, as this unique opportunity is right up your alley.

Prime Video Australia is currently doing a nationwide search for a content junkie to fill the slot of their Prime Video Buff.

The main requirement for this job is to watch and recommend the latest Prime Video films and TV shows to Aussies so that they can discover all the existing programs added to the platform.

This job is a three-month contract; however, you can earn up to $40,000 during your stint. I’m sorry, excuse me? In this economy? Not too shabby people.

Prime Video has tens of thousands of titles to choose from, so you’ll be absolutely spoiled for choice when selecting your top picks.

But aside from being paid to watch TV (yes, I know it already sounds like a dream), the position also comes with a whole wealth of perks in case you weren't already rushing to submit your application.

From gaining red carpet access and working from home - or as I like to call it, working from bed - to viewing the biggest Australian and international shows before they hit the platform.

And the reason behind Prime Video calling on a content junkie to join the family? Well, research has found that while some Australians (46 per cent) enjoy a sophisticated AI to recommend content, adding a human touch never goes astray.

In fact, more than three in five of those surveyed (64 per cent) rely heavily on word-of-mouth or expert recommendations when choosing the best movies and TV shows.

Enter the Prime Video Buff..

Head of Prime Video Australia and New Zealand, Hushidar Kharas said of the position: “We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes entertainment to help customers find new content and genres that they normally might not pick.

“We see this as a real opportunity to uncover a new talent in entertainment, while further helping our customers unlock new TV shows and movies.”

And to help Prime Video, they’ve enlisted national treasure, presenter and podcaster Osher Günsberg to recruit this exceptional role.

“Just when you thought remote working was pretty good, along comes remote-control working,” Günsbergs shared.

“The candidate who snags the gig as the Prime Video Buff won’t be a regular person, because this isn’t a regular job. Prime Video is looking right across the country for someone who is truly film- and TV-obsessed, nothing less. A person who can quote every line in a classic rom-com, who loves an action thriller as much as a cult classic.”

So, you think you have what it takes? Apply here to score yourself the job of your dreams.

Best of luck!
