This Is What Happens When You Pour Molten Copper Into A Coconut

Science at its best.

I agree, it is a weird combination of objects. However, considering what happened when molten copper met a Big Mac, odd or not, we were intrigued to see how a coconut would fair in comparison.

Thanks to I Fucking Love Science, which found this video.

First drill a whole in the top of a coconut and extract the content into a bowl. Throw it away for all I care as it won't be needed here.

Next, melt copper in a graphite crucible propane container.

Once liquefied, pour the copper molten into the coconut.

What's that? Can't be arsed? Alright then, here's the video, and it's mesmerising.

The first reaction occurs as soon as the two components meet. The coconut looks as if it is about to explode.

I don't think anyone was expecting that reaction.

And that, lads and gentlemen, concludes today's science experiment.
