If you've ever wanted to see see a cheeky snap again, but couldn't record the video - then rest assured - those days could well be over.

The next iPhone system update, iOS 11, will reportedly include a screen recording tool. You'll also be able to put a nifty little button on your Control Centre when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

People have been able to record their screen for a while, but that's only if they linked their device to a computer, and the footage was recorded through Quicktime Player.

But now you will be able to do all that just from your phone. A developer known on Twitter as Faiz, posted a video on the social networking site to show how it works.

Other Twitter users were quick to express their excitement at the new feature.

According to Mic, Snapchat users also won't be told that you've recorded your screen while viewing the snap, unlike when that awkward notification comes through that you've taken a screenshot.

But that's not the only update that's coming in iOS 11. Like I mentioned above, the Control Centre will be more customisable and you can swap in what you want, instead of the standard: flashlight, timer, calculator and camera.

Apple Maps will soon be able to give you directions in local shopping centres and airports. Siri will also be updated with a learning function that adapts to what each individual user is interested in based on their location or what they've searched for before.

An interesting step forward will be incorporating the Apple Pay function through the iMessage app. According to Gizmodo, you'll be able to quickly send payments, which are encrypted end to end, to someone you're messaging. That will be protected on your end through the TouchID Fingerprint technology so that only you can send the money.

The camera is also set to get a much-needed boost, with new photography filters expected.

One of the new features is a long-exposure effect for live photos to give your snaps a cheeky artistic flair. Finally you'll also be able to pick which frame of a live photo that you want instead of just having to accept the collection.
