Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway has got off to a surprisingly controversial start, with the Geordie duo having to issue an on-air apology after a contestant swore live on air.

The girl in question was seen mouthing "fuck off" during a competition segment of the TV show tonight during a part of the show giving away a holiday to Disney World in Florida.

It came alongside this entrance fail from Stephen Mulhern and Dec muddling up his words...

Ant and Dec later said sorry for language.

Dec said: "I have to say we're very sorry if somebody got a bit excited and said something they shouldn't have.

"We're very sorry."

Among other fuck-ups was Stephen Mulhern's entrance. The magician and presenter was meant to be shot out of a cannon...

Anthony McPartlin added: "It was fine in rehearsal!"

And Stephen later joked: "I've sacked the camera man!"

Then things went from bad to worse for Ant and Dec, as Declan Donnelly failed to get his words out while talking about the £1 million cash prize one audience member could win.

He kept trying to say: "You could win a whopping 1 million pounds!"

But he just couldn't say "whopping", leaving Ant in hysterics.

Dec joked: "We'll just cut this bit out!"
