Google Maps' New Feature Is Going To Be A Game Changer

Google Maps' New Feature Is Going To Be A Game Changer

A interesting feature.

There's no doubt that Google Maps has made getting to and from places a whole lot easier than it used to be. But still there are some ways it could be improved.

One of the most common problems people have with it is that although the app will lead you to a location, you still need to find somewhere to park up once you arrive at your destination.

Well worry not weary traveller, come hither and I will bestow on you good news and mirth.

A feature, first spotted by Android Police, is included in the latest beta version of Maps, v9.44.0. When you search for driving directions, parking availability status is included along with the standard time and distance estimates.

The probability of finding a spot is deemed by the app to be 'Easy', 'Medium' or 'Limited'.

When parking data is added to Google's existing user tracking, the new parking feature could become even more focused and might even allow you to know exactly where you are able to park.

Google also recently added a feature that provides live information about how busy public places are, so users can check when a restaurant's peak times are and see how busy it is before visiting.

This is all good news, but still there are other features that I'd like to see on Google Maps...

Our Google Maps Demands

Listen up, Google, it's time we got some new features on the Maps app.

How about the apps not only told us when a bus is going to arrive, but also told us how many other people are going to be on the bus. It pisses me off every morning, deciding when to leave the house, only to have to sit on a bus that's completely chocker-block. Maybe I could have waited two minutes and got on one that's quieter.

And, yeh, while I'm at it, how about you make it so it's easier to call a taxi - and I'm not just talking an Uber here - I mean how about I can compare the estimated fares between all the companies in my area and pick the best ones.

Wait, no, wait I have some more ideas. How about if public transport is serially late then I have a button I can press that not only reports the services to the relevant complaints department, it texts the drivers driving said busses and lets them know exactly how pissed off I am with them.

How about that then?
