Teenager Wins Top Prize On Scratchcard Twice In One Week

How lucky is this?

If you won $555,555 (£431,000) off a $5 (£3.88) scratch card, you'd probably think you were pretty bloody lucky, wouldn't you?

Nineteen-year-old Rosa Dominguez, from California, did just that when she picked up a scratch card at a petrol station and found she'd won the top prize.

She was so pleased with her win that, according to CBS, she felt nervous and 'just wanted to cry'. Fair enough - I think I'd probably be too busy screaming hysterically to cry, but I get her point.

After the excitement of her big win wore off, Rosa decided to go and get another $5 card. Why not, eh? Bit of fun, isn't it? And it's not like she can't spare five dollars now.

Well, she only went and fucking won on that one, too, didn't she?

Jammy Rosa scooped a second win of $100,000 (£77,595), which was also the top prize for that game, bringing her total winnings to $655,555 (£508,683) or, $655,545 if you take away the $10 she spent on buying the two cards.

If she was nervous and felt like crying after the first win, we can only imagine how she felt after the second one.

The lottery that runs the tickets has confirmed Rosa has collected her total winnings. I'll bet she has, she's hardly likely to forget, is she?

And she told the organisation she would be buying herself a new car and go on a shopping spree with the money.

Weirdly enough, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. In 2015, a UK couple won £1m on the EuroMillions for the second time.

David and Kathleen Long from Scunthorpe won their first £1 million ($1,288,000) in 2013 and then beat odds of 283 billion to one to win a second time around.

David said in 2015: "I always knew I'd win, even the first time. I just had a feeling it was going to be me. I tend to play when I know there are lots of prizes on the go.

"On Saturday morning I sat down in front of our telly and started checking the numbers. On one line I'd matched two numbers and one star to get 7.20 and thought that's alright.

"Then I checked the raffle codes, something I've learnt to do automatically since winning last time. After a few moments I very calmly called Kath in and said: 'Have a look at this. It's there. Look. Read that line.'"

Cool, good for them, not a bit jealous.
