My dog, Dizzy, died earlier this year and I was pretty beat up about it. My colleague, Teal, came round to my house the day I found out and I was sat in the dark listening to Joy Division drinking a can of Stella; it was that kind of a day.
Dogs are great, though. I miss Dizzy. To be honest, I reckon if you don't like animals, then you've probably got something up with you. Even more so if you're actively cruel to them.
Take this scumbag, for example. He appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show regarding the fatherhood of a child but it was revealed he was also jailed for ramming an umbrella down a dog's throat.
As far I'm concerned, fellas like him should do serious time. Rightly, Jeremy laid into him when he found out. Have a look here....

Jezza attacked the animal abuser, saying: "You are a disgusting, vile human being - and thank God you're not the child's biological father. I wouldn't let a baby near you."
David was found guilty of 'inserting an umbrella down a dog's throat'. He seriously injured the dog and left it with a swollen, bloodshot eye, bleeding throat, and a bruised and cut head.
He was charged with 'unnecessary cruelty' and sentenced to four months behind bars for his crimes.
In sentencing, the Magistrate told him: "This was an appalling attack on a defenceless animal and this was one of the worst things I've seen in 26 years on the bench."

The row happened as former convict David demanded a paternity test for ex-girlfriend Rosie's two-week-old baby, despite having only had sex with her twice.
Rosie told the ITV cameras: "I don't know who the dad is, I'll admit."
It sounds a sorry state of affairs.
