Man Who Faked His Own Death After Sending Parcel Bomb To Model Faces Extradition To Australia

Man Who Faked His Own Death After Sending Parcel Bomb To Model Faces Extradition To Australia

It's a complicated story.

Bad news lads, turns out it's a bad idea to send a parcel bomb to a Penthouse model turned meth-dealing king-pin and then fake your own death.

So found out former TV presenter Roberto Saenz de Heredia, who was arrested at Gatwick airport last month whilst trying to visit his mum and sister, as reported by the Sunday Telegraph.

47-year-old Roberto, who is originally from Australia, was caught using a fake passport to get into the UK because in 1998 he was charged with attempted murder, after allegedly sending a parcel bomb to the Sydney home of Simone Farrow.

Simone Farrow used to be a Penthouse model, then she became a 'Walter White' style drug king-pin, now she's in prison.

And here's me thinking that being a journalist is an interesting career.

Roberto, who used to be a presenter on Aussie cable shopping network Foxtel back in the 90s, had beef with Simone after he lent her and her boyfriend a $80,000 loan which they intended to use to fund a 'sex website', a court heard.

After sending a package containing an explosive device to her in the post Roberto found himself in trouble with the law. He decided the best way of solving all his problems was to fake his own death.

His car was found in Sydney covered in blood in 1999, which made the police think he had been murdered.

After living in Bali for a bit, Roberto then managed to find work as a foreign exchange trader in Spain. He had been travelling back and forth between there and the UK since 2011.

He is now being held in a British jail and faces extradition back to Australia.

All in all this entire thing sounds, and is, completely ridiculous.

I hope justice is served.
