Fans Shocked After Discovering Stadium Selling Burger For $25,000

And you thought Salt Bae’s £100 ‘golden burger’ was expensive

Sports fans were left feeling understandably perplexed after discovering a baseball stadium selling a burger for a whopping $25,000 (£19,200).

And you thought Salt Bae’s £100 ‘golden burger’ was dear!

The expensive dish comes courtesy of baseball team Atlanta Braves, who announced they’ll be selling the bonkers burger at games to honour their 2021 World Series win.

To be fair, the burger sounds banging, featuring a half-pound Wagyu beef patty, premium Tillamook cheddar, grilled lobster tail, fried egg, heirloom tomato and bibb lettuce.

Bumping up the price is some truffle aioli and foie gras wrapped in - you guessed it - gold leaf.

All of this is served in a toasted brioche bun with a side of parmesan waffle fries.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: how does this all come to $25,000? Well, the burger isn’t the only thing customers get.

The most important side of all is a genuine limited-edition World Series ring.

Even so, that’s a helluva lot of money for us mere mortals, but the good news is punters can also bag the burger alongside a replica of the ring for the far more reasonable price of $151 (£115).

Since making its debut at Truist Park baseball stadium last week, the online community has had a lot to say about the ‘World Champions Burger’.

Many Twitter users weren’t convinced, with one writing: “Doesn’t look much better than the burgers in the chop house.”

Another joked: "I'll be putting out a gofundme to buy this burger at the next braves game."

A third chimed in: “Fine sell some $25k limited edition rings, but with a burger lol. Such a weird idea - no one going to the game goes to the concession and says ‘hmm, for an additional $24.98k I can get a ring - sold!’

“Likewise, no one buying a ring cares about a $20 burger.”

Even the cheaper option wasn’t for some, as revealed by a fan who said: “I don't care how great my team is and how much I enjoy celebrating the fact they won, but I'd never spend $151 for a loaded burger with a replica championship ring.

“Sorry @Braves. That's just too much no matter the team, in my case, @Astros.”

However, others were more positive about the idea, including this person who wrote: “This weekend going to give it a try!!”

Another said: “You gotta try it ONCE! C'mon!"

That last commenter not realising that ‘trying it once’ is enough to bankrupt most of us right now.
