Logan Paul taps out while wrestling with Israel Adesanya

Logan Paul has been absolutely obliterated by MMA star Israel Adesanya in what was likely a huge wake-up call for the YouTuber-turned-professional wrestler.

It seems that the 33-year-old American fighter is now dreaming of ditching wrestling to try out some other contact sports, which is precisely how he wound up in the crosshairs of Adesanya.

Paul was all chat as usual, but he soon had the words knocked out of him as sparring quickly escalated into an iron-clad chokehold by the elite Nigerian-New Zealand mixed martial artist.

Paul eventually tapped out and conceded the fight.

As per TMZ Sports he admitted he tried his best to wriggle free, but he was eventually bested by Adesanya, which is no surprise, considering Israel is an elite sportsman with multiple championships under his belt across the three disciplines of MMA, kickboxing, and boxing.

So he's made of tough stuff.

Paul was quick to jump to his own defence, though, pointing out he was close to having his freedom back in the training session.

"I almost made it out," he claimed, laughing.

The showdown took place during a training session in Puerto Rico, with fellow fighter Alexander Volkanovski and Adesanya catching up with Paul to spruik their partnership with Logan's PRIME brand athletes.

And, while Paul might be better known for wrestling, it seems he's eyeing a slew of similar titles across multiple fighting types just like Adesanya.

During a recent episode of Logan's podcast Impaulsive, the fighter and content creator sat down with the Nigerian-New Zealand fighter to chat about all things combat sports.

Logan jumped at the chance to mention he planned to follow in Adesanya's footsteps to become a three-sport champion.

"I might have to do a UFC fight. I had this idea one day. I said to myself, I don’t think there’s ever been a simultaneous WWE, UFC, and boxing champion at the same time," Paul said.

The boy's got guts, you have to give him that.

He added as per BodySlam: "I said to myself, I can probably do WWE, I feel confident I can get a WWE Championship. Boxing, one of their lower-tier, there’s a hundred different … like what’s a real boxing championship nowadays?

"I ran I into a problem with the UFC Championship because you. You’ve got the belt."

Well, considering Adesanya creamed him while sparring, Paul might have a bit more training before he steps in the octagon.

Or he at least needs to figure out Adesanya's methodical triangle choke.

But, hey. It's one step at a time to become a three-discipline champion.
