Rangers supporters have been praised for helping to clean up Seville following the team’s Europa League defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. Check it out:

Hundreds of football fans were partying in the Spanish city in the build-up to last night’s (18 May) match, leaving the local council with a hefty clean-up job.

However, a number of Scottish revellers were filmed taking to the streets to work alongside rival German supporters in order to clear up the piles of rubbish strewn about the place.

The clip was shared by the Fútbol en Movistar Plus+ Twitter page alongside the following translated caption: “Many Scots and Germans in Seville, and some have wanted to lend a hand to the city's cleaning services.”

Since being published by UK publications, dozens of people have taken to the comments section to share their praise for the helpful Light Blues.

“Well done Rangers Fans in Seville,” wrote one. “Behaviour exemplary and helping to clean up the after match debris on the streets is another feather in the cap.”

“You made us proud to get to the final and now helping to clean up! God bless RANGERS,” said another.

A third chimed in: “At least there is some decent Rangers fans who tidy up the mess others make.”

Some were less forgiving about the clip, with one stating: “Let me change the title. Two Rangers fans out of 100,000 pick up bottles and sweet litter.”

Prior to the match, Rangers supporters were spotted causing chaos in Seville and subsequently pissing off locals, including this person who jumped into the famous Plaza de España pond.

Curro Bono Borerro filmed the footy fan jumping onto one of the railings at the tourist attraction on Monday, 17 May, before diving into the water.

The man, wearing an orange Rangers strip, headed towards the stone barrier of the pond area with his hands in the air.

Someone was heard shouting 'go', while others egged him on to jump into the pond.

Sharing the clip on Twitter, Borerro slammed the man’s actions.

“There are no millions of euros that justify this mockery of Seville,” he wrote, adding that the city is ‘being trampled, insulted and prostituted’.

And it wasn’t just the Light Blues causing mayhem either, as a group of Frankfurt ultras were filmed throwing flares and other projectiles in the direction of Rangers supporters ahead of the Europa League final at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium.

One Rangers fan was seen throwing a missile back in the direction of the attackers before riot police separated the two sets of supporters.

Spanish police later confirmed they had arrested five Eintracht Frankfurt supporters for public order offences relating to the clash.
