Details have finally been revealed regarding the upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro console.

At the PlayStation meeting in New York, Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House listed off some of the important things that we need to know. Like, now.

When's the release date?

The PlayStation 4 Pro console will be available on 10 November, 2016. It's almost as if they planned it to be available in time for Christmas! Oh, wait.

How much is it going to cost?

Simple question, simple answer. It'll set you back £349. Funnily enough, the same price the original PS4 cost back in 2013.

What's going on with pre-ordering?

You can pre-order now. Amazon have it listed and even have a cheeky bit of free shipping - so that's nice.

But the really good stuff is the specs and the accessories...

What are the specs?

The most exciting part is that the console will support full 4K gaming. It's the first console to do so, a full year before Microsoft's version is expected to hit stores. Obviously, this is something that's been available for the smug PC gamers for a while now (yes, PC is better but console's just a bit more convenient) but hopefully this will open it up even more. The graphics are going to be better, as well as the console now featuring an upgraded GPU, boosted clock rate and a 1TB hard drive.

YouTube and Netflix will also be taking advantage of 4K video streaming by updating their apps specifically for the console.

Have they updated the accessories?

HELL. YES. There's a new Wireless Controller - DUALSHOCK:registered:4. At £54, it's not cheap. But it now offers USB communication as well as the Bluetooth we already had.

There's also a new PS Camera, also coming in at £54, which features a new compact cylindrical form. According to the press release it 'includes a stand allowing users to easily adjust the angle of the PS Camera and set it up in their preferred location, such as on top of their TV or entertainment centre'. Sweet.

The cheapest of the lot is the new stand, £16, which is made with 'translucent material' to resemble the 'shadow' of the system when set vertically.

There's also a Platinum Wireless Headset which is (prepare yourselves) £129. Ouch. Sony wrote: "The headset boasts premium construction and materials for extra comfort, as well as enhanced highly positional 7.1 virtual surround sound powered by SIE's proprietary 3D audio technology.

"Select PS4 games supporting 3D audio for the headset will deliver surround sound from all directions, including above and below you, for more immersive experiences.

"The new premium headset also features multi-position, hidden noise-cancelling microphones for clearer chat and is also compatible with PS VR and mobile devices using an included 3.5mm audio cable."

It actually sounds awesome.
