Ryanair passengers urged to check flights after airline axes routes from 19 airports

Ryanair has slashed journeys all over Europe, including what is arguably the UK's favourite destination

If you’re about to book yourself a nice holiday for the summer, you’re going to want to know about which airports have been stricken off by Ryanair.

There’s nothing worse than bigging up your holiday plans to mates and then finding out that your flight has been cancelled, and you’ve now got to scramble to find a similar priced package, with a different airline.

This problem can easily be prevented by just knowing what flights at 19 airports across Europe, and the UK have been cut from the airline’s summer timetable amid the rising costs of air tax, says The Sun.

Air tax is also known as Air Passenger Duty, a fee that plane operators pay to HMRC depending on the miles flown and distance from London.

In light of this, Ryanair has drawn up its summer schedule, and stuck off the likes of Berlin, Manchester, Krakow and Malaga flights in the process.

According to Travel and Tour World, the issue here also stems from overcapacity, which would see too many people trying to book flight seats that have already been allocated.

So, what can you do when there’s not enough space or planes to fly the number of people wanting to travel abroad?

You cut it all right down.

What are the airport locations facing cuts by Ryanair?

According to Crystal Travel, there are many airports being culled over the holidays, with some in the UK and Ireland being impacted too.

For example, London Stansted, and Manchester are among the UK airports cut by Ryanair.

Then for Ireland, its Dublin and Shannon locations will also feel the effects too.

There’s also Germany’s Berlin Brandenburg, Cologne Bonn and Hamburg, Italy’s Milan Bergamo and Pisa airports, and Portugal’s Porto location.

Belgium’s Brussels South Charleroi, France’s Paris Beauvais and Poland’s Krakow and Warsaw Modlin have also been added to the list, as well as Hungary’s Budapest and Romania’s Bucharest.

Other locations include Bulgaria’s Sofia, Spain’s Valencia and Malaga.

For Brits traveling abroad, this means that direct routes might become a pain to find – but you can still travel via changes and pit stops.

Spain has seen some of the most extensive cuts, and is a well-known UK favourite destination to holiday.

Ryanair's closure of its base in Santiago de Compostela and reducing capacity at Santander and Zaragoza, as well as suspending flights to Tenerife North has seen the airline lose around 1.2 million seats from its 2026 schedule for Spain.
