There's an age-old rule when it comes to taking photos: always double-check what's in the image before sharing it with others.
After all, no one wants to be rinsed for sharing a picture which includes their dirty dishes or piles of laundry.
However, mistakes do happen, and this is something one couple experienced after sending what appeared to be an innocent holiday snap to family members.
Back in 2019, Kelsey shared what appeared to be a pretty normal selfie of herself and her boyfriend, Elliot, with her mum on WhatsApp.

Taken in the mirror, the couple posed for the camera before heading out for the evening and, upon first glance, the photo appears to be your pretty standard holiday snap.
Have a look at the image yourself below:

Inflatable lilo, several bottles of water, a slightly messy bed, and toiletries – nothing unusual, right?
That is, until your eyes focus on a small orange bottle sitting on the dressing table, which is exactly what you think it is.
The culprit here is, of course, a bottle of Durex lube to be used for something I'm certain you can correctly guess.
What people want to get up to on holiday is their business, but things may get a little weird when you send photographic evidence to your parents, who can't help but comment on it.
Kelsey then shared a screenshot of the conversation with her mother, which included the comment 'nice Durex bottle' – because what is the point of having children if you can't embarrass them as often as possible?
Horrified by the offending item, Kelsey attempted to pass it off as her boyfriend's 'knee cream', an excuse which her parents were unfortunately having none of, as her father had 'zoomed in' for good measure.
Oh dear.

Caught red-handed, Kelsey came clean and responded that her boyfriend was absolutely 'mortified' by the exchange.
Which is fair enough.
It's certainly one way to ensure that you have a holiday so special you don't ever want to go home, though in this case, it's because when you next see your parents, no matter how innocuous the conversation seems, they'll know, and you'll know they know.
And now the whole world also knows, as Kelsey then shared the image and exchange with her followers on X, joking that she would not be sharing any more holiday snaps with her family without thoroughly checking them over first.
Which is surely a lesson for all of us.
