Delivery drivers deserve a big hats off - particularly for the ridiculous amount of orders they deliver to my front door every month.

It can hardly be that fun carting around tons of delicious-smelling food, unable to have a nibble of it yourself, in the cold, dark and bleak winter months, especially if you're on an E-bike.

However, one driver who works part-time for Deliveroo while studying at university in Exeter went out from 8:30am to midnight with 'a few breaks here and there' on Saturday, 17 December and you won't believe how many orders they delivered.

During their last shift before Christmas, the rider delivered a whopping 56 orders according to the screenshot from the app posted to Reddit.

As a result of the 56 orders, they earned an impressive total of £294.66 ($360) which works out at an average of £5.26 ($6.50) per order.

The screenshot shows a breakdown of the payment which is made up of £253.75 ($314) worth of order fees, extra fees amounting to £35.91 ($44) and £5.00 ($6) tips.

However, the driver noted in the comments of the post they may get 'some added tips in the next few days' but aren't tipped 'very often unfortunately' because of tipping not being 'remotely normal in the UK' and how it 'should never be expected'.

The driver also explained how they managed lengthy shift without running out of battery.

The driver explained: "Started off with my E-bike then switched to hired E-bike for around 10 hours (£18) ($22) while my bike was charging. Finished off with my bike again for the final few hours."

The driver didn't have to wait for an order either, noting as soon as he'd arrived at one destination, another one came through 'straight away'.

People have flocked to the Reddit post in support of the hard-working driver to praise them for their hefty shift and impressive profit.

One said: "That's a lot! Congrats mate."

"8:30 until midnight. Damn boiiii. That’s impressive. Works out to be about £18 an hour (minus the £18 for the bike hire). Hopefully get some tips in over the next few days too. Keep it up buddy," another wrote.

A third commented: "Fantastic job. Well done!"

A final resolved: "Congratulations mate, well done! Hard work pays off."
