Dog Ate All Of Family's Turkey On Christmas Eve

Dog Ate All Of Family's Turkey On Christmas Eve

The greedy mutt was left unable to move after scoffing the entire turkey

As we all know, Christmas is a time for indulgence. Indulgence and sharing. But one dog didn't get the second half of the memo.

David Barrett's Chi Apso Bubba threatened to ruin Christmas by devouring all of his family's turkey on Christmas Eve.

I mean, leave an unattended turkey with a Newfoundland and you can expect that bird to disappear, but being a Chi Apso - a mix of a Chihuahua and a Lhasa Apso - Bubba ain't the biggest dog in the world.

As such, the feast left her bloated like an anaconda that'd just swallowed a whole deer.

A Christmas to remember - for Bubba and her family.

Bubba's Christmas-threatening feast took place on Christmas Eve in 2016, and David shared the news with the world in a tweet that read: "No chance has ma dog just scranned the whole turkey for tomorrow."

The tweet racked up more than 22,700 likes, with a photo of the inflated culprit retweeted more than 8,800 times.

Thankfully Christmas wasn't ruined in the end, as the owners managed to save the day by getting relatives to bring around a spare turkey.

David explained: "It was a turkey breast and mum cooked everything and sat it on the bottom tier of a two-tier table and put tin foil and a dish cloth over it.

"She just couldn't move. It was pretty big, a whole turkey breast.

"My aunt had two turkeys so we got one of hers."

At the other end of the festive doggy discipline scale, Liam Beach managed to get all of his 17 sausage dogs to pose for a Christmas photo.

Liam decided to dress his dogs in their very own Christmas cardies in the run-up to the holiday season in 2019 and get his puppy posse to pose for a photoshoot.

Buster, Daisy, Ziggy, Wallie, Zac, Bonnie, Saffie, Duke, Diamond, Ruby, Kizzy, Sammy, Kansy, Kiki, Lottie, Benji and Dudley were all on their best behaviour as they posed on his stairs.

Simply amazing.

He said: "I have done Christmas pictures of the dogs previously dressed up for Xmas on the sofa and thought I need to top them so thought I'd do it on the stairs this year.

"I thought that's a challenge, so I had to go one better to prove people wrong with the dogs all dressed up ready for Christmas and I thought it would be funny to see them all dressed up in their little outfits."

That said, it took a fair few attempts before he could get them all in the right position before capturing the perfect snap - that's a lot of doggos to get in one place, after all.

Liam added: "It took about 45 minutes to get the picture because when the dogs were dressed in their outfits they thought it was time to go walking and all went crazy running around the house.

"After a while on the stairs with their jumpers on they began to fall asleep so I had to work hard at keeping them awake and looking at the camera."

Worth it in the end, though.
