A man who has visited all 197 countries shared the place he reckons was the ‘dirtiest’ of them all to visit.
Well-known for his travel content on social media, Drew Binsky has spent the best part of a decade visiting every country in the world. So, it’s fair to say he’s put in the graft to form an opinion of different cities and spots, giving tips on where to visit and where to absolutely avoid.
He’s picked out his ‘worst’ country, travelled to places we’re all warned against entering and listed the places he reckons are the ‘best’.
And as he labels places for being a bit grim and gross and grimy, the YouTuber has previously issued the important note: “Travel is very subjective, based on your own personal travel experiences and there are many variables that can make or break a trip.”

Fourth ‘dirtiest city’
Mixing together videos from his travels for this YouTube Short, Binsky puts Philippines’ Tondo in at number four.
Found in Manila, he explained that the ‘first thing’ he saw there was ‘water with trash’ as he showed dark waters with rubbish practically covering the surface.
He explained how there was a huge ‘community’ living below a bridge during his visit as he explained there was ‘trash everywhere’.
Number three, Manshiyat Naser
Binsky found the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, to be the third ‘dirtiest’ place he’s ever been to in the world.
And that may be unsurprising to some as it’s famous for its ‘Garbage City quarter’. There’s said to be no organised rubbish removal city in Manshiyat Naser with the spot said to be founded to store garbage with its economy revolving around the collection and recycling of Cairo city’s rubbish.
“There’s a city built entirely on garbage,” Binsky said, “just a short drive from the world’s most popular tourist attraction lies a place where 14,000 tonnes of trash are dumped every day.”
Even with a ‘high tolerance’, he found the smell extremely difficult to process as he described it as ‘like puke’.
Number two, Stolipinovo
This neighbourhood in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv is described as a ghetto with a high concentration of Romani people.
“The hardest part for me of being here in Stolipinovo is the trash,” Binsky said. “It is really, really bad.”
He added that he’d never been to somewhere like that in Europe as he called it ‘insane’.
The ‘dirtiest city’
Taking the (probably unwanted) top spot of ‘dirtiest cities’ Binsky has visited is Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city.
With the FCDO currently warning against all travel to Haiti, the creator’s trip didn’t look particularly safe as he passed ‘gang-controlled’ areas.
He showed piles and piles of rubbish along and in the middle of the roads as one person said it’s ‘getting worse’ and isn’t being cleaned up at all.
