There was a rumour circulating on the Aussie choccy airwaves in August that Cadbury was preparing to bring back it's beloved Caramilk chocolate block.

People went ballistic at the flavour when it was first debuted and supermarkets ended up restricting shoppers to two blocks each.

Eventually, they were wiped off the shelves and everyone has been wondering when they'll next be restocked. Well, after much speculation, Cadbury has confirmed the Caramilk is coming back and will be hitting our shelves on October 2.

They'll set you back $4.80, which isn't that much when you're devouring delicious chocolate.

Cadbury marketing manager Katrina Watson told news.com.au: "We've listened to the tens of thousands of Aussies asking us to bring Cadbury Caramilk back.

"We couldn't ignore their passion for our golden chocolate block, so we're proud to be bringing it back."

But if you desperately can't wait until next month, then you might be able to pick one up on the Cadbury Joy Deliveries eBay site. They're flogging 500 blocks to people who really, really want them this Thursday, however it's a one block per person kind of deal.

Rumours about the chocolate's return started when Facebook page The Grocery Geek said they had it on good authority that Cadbury would be relaunching Caramilk in August or September.

One person commented on the post saying: "Definitely true I ordered a fair bit of stock for my shop today. Will be on special for $2.40 a block early September At all IGA's."

Now if you're thinking 'what's the big deal', people take Caramilk very bloody seriously.

Christian Hull started a petition on Change.org asking for Cadbury to make the flavour a permanent fixture and not just for limited edition.

Incredibly, the petition received nearly 19,000 signatures with many people calling for the same.

One person wrote: "I didn't even get to try It and I'm angry that they would keep filthy marvellous creations on shelves for YEARS when nobody wants it but they stop Caramilk before people even get to try it?"

Another added: "People are getting bad withdrawals. Immediately start production again please!"

So, now we can all bask in the glory that is Caramilk when they hit the shelves early next month.
