People confused by what gender was actually revealed in world's most bizarre gender reveal

So many questions, not enough answers

For more evidence that gender reveal parties are getting out of hand, take a look at possibly one of the most confusing reveals you'll ever see:

People have been left baffled by the clip, not least because it doesn't actually determine what gender the baby is going to be.

Rather than sticking to the traditional balloon popping or cake cutting, the parents-to-be in this instance decided to get two pole dancers to go through a routine - one wearing a blue bikini and another wearing pink.

The clip was shared by TikTok page @mariap_poledance alongside the caption 'gender reveal'.

But while the gymnastics on display are impressive, there doesn't seem to be any reveal. Instead, the dancers both take to the pole before doing a solo routine.

They finish up with another joint performance before grabbing each other's arms for a push and pull that ends with them both departing the podium.

Does this mean it's a boy or a girl?

Are we missing something?

Although the comments section is turned off on TikTok, the clip has since been shared on Reddit where it's received dozens of responses from confused viewers.

One person wrote: "So what gender was it? Or was it twins, boy/girl? I have so many questions"

Another replied: "Wanted to ask this as well. What was the final verdict?"

"What’s the f*****g answer?" asked a third, while a fourth simple said, "This s**t is gettin out of hand."

Others questioned why the parents chose this particular art form for their baby bash, with one writing: "I mean they are both very talented and this is original but just... why?"

Another commented: "Makes sense if mum or dad is a dancer and the dancers are from their troop... Makes literally no sense otherwise."

People have been left confused by the clip.

And then there were those who were just relieved they weren't hurting anybody, with many bringing up the gender reveal party that sparked a wildfire in California.

Yes, back in 2020, the news emerged that a fire - which devastated more than 7,000 acres of land - was started by a 'pyrotechnic device' used for a photo opportunity at the event.

The El Dorado blaze erupted on 5 September that year in San Bernardino county and continued for the next 23 days, destroying structures and homes along the way.

At the time, Jenna Karvunidis - who is said to have started the trend for these kinds of gatherings - blasted the people responsible.

In a post to her Facebook page High Gloss and Sauce, the blogger said: "Oh my god NO.

"The fire that evacuated parts of California is from a GENDER REVEAL PARTY.

"Stop it. Stop having these stupid parties. For the love of God, stop burning things down to tell everyone about your kid's penis. No one cares but you.

"It was 116 degrees in Pasadena yesterday and this tool thought it would be smart to light a fire about his kid's d**k.

"Toxic masculinity is men thinking they need to explode something because simply enjoying a baby party is for sissies.

"Oh, and of course I'm getting hate messages. Excuse me for having a cake for my family in 2008.

"Just because I'm the gEnDeR rEvEaL iNVeNtoR doesn't mean I think people should burn down their communities."
