Lad absolutely roasts mate pretending to buy his used Nike trainers on Vinted

One lad successfully wound up his mate by posing as a cheeky Vinted buyer.

A genius lad posed as a cheeky Vinted buyer so that he could rile up his mate, and the result is absolutely hilarious.

Liverpudlian Jay seemingly wanted to annoy his friend Colin and decided the best way to do it would be to hijack his post selling a pair of secondhand trainers.

To pull off the creative stunt, he first updated his Vinted profile picture to show an image of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

Then, he sealed the deal by setting his location to Newcastle upon Tyne.

The user then headed over to his friend's listing and proceeded to offer him £90 for a pair of mint condition Air Max 95 110’s.

As the Nike trainers were listed for £150, Jay proceeded to stir the pot and nudge Colin by messaging him about the critically low offer.

Posing as the buyer, he wrote in screenshots shared to social media: “Hello colins31, I have offered £90 if you can accept please.

Flabbergasted by the sheer audacity of the user, Colin replied: I”m not selling for less than listed price mate.”

In a bid to further annoy his friend, Jay said: “You’ll do as (sic) you’re told mate come on they’re for my son he would love them.

Jay threw his friend of the scent by posting behind a picture of Anthony Gordon.

Voice notes taken from a WhatsApp group chat were then posted, and Colin could be heard discussing the messages from the supposed Magpies fan.

“Not even having it though lad, it’s the fact they went ‘you’ll do as you’re told mate me son wants them’, he said.

“Why does your son want used shoes? Makes no sense. I can’t stand people man.”

Colin then questioned the validity of the Vinted user as they were using a picture of Gordon to hide their identity.

“I’m having a t**t of a week man and this just doesn’t help at all,” he continued.

In another voice note, the seller said: “I said to him ‘There’s no chance you’re getting them for £90’, and he went ‘All right then, I’ll have them for £91.’”

The original poster then included another screenshot of the conversation, which saw Colin writing: “You must be joking here lad saying do as ye told.

The social media user posted screenshots of the comedic conversation.

“Mightn’t be OG’s but go find the same pair in just as good condition for cheaper if you can lad. Won’t find me selling them to you for £90.”

The final message from Jay said: “Ye only a mushroom from Kirby lad you’ve just been Scoused.”

Since sharing the wind-up via X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday (16 November), the post has been viewed more than 575,000 times and has collected a string of comments from users.

One X user said: “Brilliant this lad.”

“Can’t tell you how much I’ve just laughed at ‘You’ll do as (sic) you’re told mate,” replied a second.

Another wrote: “The accent makes it x10 funnier (sic) I’m howling," while a fourth commented: “Putting Anthony Gordon for the pic is funny like. That definitely threw him off.”

We do love a bit of creative tomfoolery and this one takes the cake.
