People Divided Over Whether Or Not Mini Cheddars Are Crisps

Redditors have yet again provided a rather pointless yet thought-provoking debate

People can't agree on whether Mini Cheddars are classed as crips or not.

Reddit users have, yet again, come up with a very pointless but thought-provoking debate, and people have become obsessed over it.

Someone had the sheer audacity to ask: "It’s time to settle some scores… are mini cheddars crisps?"

To which many Redditors were more than ready to shoot back.

One commented: "I don't know what agenda you are trying to push here. But it makes me feel weird."

Another observant user added: "The perfect psycho to completely destabilize social order in Britain."

A third quipped: "It was only a matter of time before 'Big Crisp' infiltrated our beloved sub to divide us.

"Wouldn't be surprised if u/cash303 is Gary Lineker."

Someone else said: "You have come on here on a Tuesday morning after the long easter bank holiday weekend and chose violence."

The fact that people were fuming over question, you best believe their answers were just as impressive.

One confused user said: "I’m angry with myself for not knowing the answer."

A second user added: "The big ones are in the biscuits aisle, the small ones are in the crisps aisle. The debate goes on."

While a third wrote: "No, they are crackers that belong in the crisp aisle. Like Jaffa Cakes are cakes that belong in the biscuit aisle."

Another sophisticated commenter added: "Let’s be honest the crisp aisle is really a snack aisle, they put popcorn and nuts there too."

Someone else thought they had cracked it and wrote: "The full-sized ones are described as savoury biscuits, so I imagine them making them smaller doesn't change that."

A final user was definitely firm in their views and commented: "I will fight anyone who thinks these are crisps. Just name a place and I'll be there, as long as it's not far from my house and you're not huge, or small but really hard."

Well, with hopes of getting to the bottom of this very important debate, Metro.co.uk got in touch the PR company that works with Jacob’s and Mini Cheddars, and they helped us come to a conclusion.

Abbie Pollington, Brand Manager at Mini Cheddars, told the publication: "As a mini version of our classic Cheddar biscuits, we call them Cheese Snack biscuits.

"We stir real cheese into the dough before baking them (never fried!), as you would a biscuit, until golden.

"However, as people often eat our bigger brother with cheese, as you would a cracker, and our mini versions are served in a bag as well as being found alongside crisps in the supermarket aisle, we can see how people may strongly feel they should be referred to as crackers or crisps."
