A car salesperson shared the one reason why you should ‘never ever’ test drive a car at a dealership.
I mean, it seems like the standard practice to take the whip out for a quickie before you buy it, right?
You wouldn’t buy and keep a pair of shoes without trying them on or purchase a new home without a decent look around.

But apparently it’s not the best idea to have a test of a car before splashing the cash at a dealership.
And to be fair, this worker’s explanation of why makes sense – and is pretty obvious.
Yeah, it’s because once you’ve test driven the vehicle, it’s far more likely you’re going to want to buy it, putting you right in the palm of the salesperson’s hands.

“Never ever test drive a car at a dealership,” TikToker Ash explained. With experience working at a dealership, she gave some insider insight into the process of testing and buying a new whip.

“The only reason the dealership wants you to drive that car is so you can fall in love with it and take mental ownership,” she added
“They want you to form an emotional connection with the car so you’ll be so excited you’ll just say yes to whatever they say.”
Well, they do say that new car smell is pretty intoxicating.
Working in dealerships in the US, Ash went on to say the business make you ‘sit around for hours’ for a reason.
"The dealership wants to make sure the car you're looking at fits your wants and needs before moving on to negotiations which could take some time," she said.

"Dealerships make you sit around for hours and yes, they do this on purpose.
"They want you to be so mentally exhausted and so drained that you sign on the dotted line simply so you can get out of there.
"Buying a car is a process but the dealership wants things to move as quickly as possible so they can put their time and energy into more cars."
However, her claim around test driving divided users as one said: “Nah, I’ve test driven cars before. You just have to learn to say no and walk away if it’s not what you are after."

With a second echoing: “I’m always willing to walk away, I’ll def test driving it.”
And a third slammed: “Why would you buy without a test drive?? Nonsense."
Although, another said: “Buying a car without a test drive is a recipe for buyer remorse.
"It’s even worse if you’re trying to buy a used car, the odds of you end up with a junk is much higher without a test drive."
