Courtney Love told she was 'going to die' after her body 'exploded' in health scare
Courtney Love has revealed that she faced a serious health crisis after moving to England in 2019.
When the Celebrity Skin singer, 62, moved from LA to London seven years ago, she suffered a scare when doctors told her she ‘was going to die’.
Taking to Instagram to address questions about her long-awaited solo album, the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain said: “A lot of you are asking where my record is at. It’s done. It’s kind of been done.
“It’s a really good record. I put a lot into it.”

Opening up about her health, the ex Hole frontwoman added: “When I went there, my body just exploded. It just exploded. And I was in hospitals a lot. I almost died.
“I lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds. And they told me I was going to die. I didn’t believe them.”
She refused to believe the medical advice, something she puts down to a childhood experience.
“When I was a kid — I think this record is about this — I used to, like, pattern-interrupt the adults, and they’d tell me ‘red’.
“They’d say ‘red was blue’, and then I’d see blue, but blue was blue.
“So now that I gaslight myself that maybe they were right and red was blue, and then I would see purple and my head would explode.
“I never really lost my ability to see that f**king red was red, despite them telling me that red was blue.
“And so when they said I was going to die, I just didn’t believe them.”
Love said that ‘somehow’ she ‘got better’ and that she’s now ‘healthy’.
Over on Instagram, Love continued to say that she ‘will be back’ and that ‘I just wasn’t public about being sick. I’m fine now’.
Love married Cobain in 1992, and they had a daughter named Frances Bean Cobain before the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ singer’s tragic death in 1994.
Earlier this year, Love asked Dave Grohl to speak to his fans following a long feud which began after Cobain’s death.
In the early 2000s, the singer filed lawsuits against Grohl and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic over the rights to unreleased Nirvana recordings and the band’s catalogue. They reached a settlement in 2002 and shared control of Nirvana’s music.
After a long public feud, the relationship between the pair eventually softened when Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
The Foo Fighters frontman told Rolling Stone that he 'just tapped her on the shoulder'.
“We gave each other a big hug… We’re family, no matter what,” he said.
Love, 61, has now urged Grohl, 57, to inform his fans of the reconciliation.
"Grohl, come out with it and just say we’re cool. Like, come out with it," she said on The Magnificent Others podcast with Billy Corgan.
"Be man enough to man up, because you’re the übermensch who has all the straight males, and we’re cool.
"But you won’t say it because you’re afraid you’ll lose your audience? You’re afraid it’ll affect your relationship with literal Paul McCartney?"
Love then asked Grohl if the 'straight white males' section of his fan base to 'stop picking on me'.
