Europe's largest funfair has opened in England and has 400 rides and attractions

Thrill-seekers should visit The Hoppings for a huge range of rides for adults and kids.

The funfair which is said to be the largest in Europe has re-opened in England for the summer.

With temperatures in the mid-20s predicted for the UK over the next few days, and a few spells of rain because it's the UK after all, we're all searching for a tremendous getaway ASAP.

Although there are countless funfairs across the country for thrill-seekers and families to enjoy, you might want to plan a trip to the Hoppings Funfair, which boasts over 400 rides and attractions.

The Hoppings is located in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, the Hoppings Funfair is purported to be the largest of its kind in our continent.

Set in Town Moor, a huge area of common land in the city, the large funfair is only open for ten days this summer so you’ll have to be quick if you want to take advantage of the festivities and hot weather.

The site spreads across one kilometre and parkgoers will have an abundance of options for rides, including classics like dodgems (bumper cars), a ghost train, a carousel and a waltzer.

Children are also spoilt for choice as there are over 100 attractions and rides for the little ones.

Parents can help their children choose from colourful bouncy castles, slides, spinning tea cups and mini roller coasters.

And for the older and more daring parkgoers, there are plenty of rides to choose from which will get your blood pumping, including the brand-new Rocket Ride.

Parkgoers will be lifted 50 metres into the air before being spun around and placed back on the ground in this ride.

You could also try to beat the G4 force of the March 5 Bomber or opt to enjoy the towering heights of the Giant Observation Wheel.

With 42 rides taking centre stage at the park this year, you'll have plenty to choose from.

The Hoppings Funfair was first introduced to the city in 1882 and has expanded over the decades to become the biggest of its kind in Europe.

The funfair opened on Friday (16 June) and will close on 25 June, 2023. Yes, you’ll only have a 10-day period to plan a trip up to Newcastle but it’ll definitely be worth it.

Doors will be open from 1pm to 11pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while opening hours will be slightly less during the week, 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The rides are priced individually and range from £1.50 to £5 and entrance is free.
