Woman wanted 'cute' cowboy inking on her neck but tattoo artist makes big mistake

Destinie Meadors has been able to see the funny side of the mistake.

Getting a tattoo is quite a big commitment so it’s important that you ensure you get exactly what you want inked on your body.

That is what Destinie Meadors, from Arkansas, US, did and for hers, she settled on a cowboy-inspired design on her neck.

The TikToker wanted to pay tribute to the rodeo culture, which is huge in the landlocked U.S. state.

But what Meadors didn’t bargain for was that the tattoo would not go as planned.

This is the tattoo Destinie wanted.

Thankfully, Meadors has been able to see the funny side of the ordeal and has since taken to social media to joke about it.

The TikToker visited a tattoo studio and asked the artist to ink a common cowboy greeting on her neck.

She shared her experience in a video shared on TikTok, in which she shared a picture of the tattoo she wanted.

It’s a simple text tattoo written underneath the ear which reads: “HOWDY.”

The greeting is a pretty common phrase even outside the rodeo world and most of us know how to spell it.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the tattoo artist who did Meadors’ tattoo, and it’s fair to say that it didn’t come as she expected.

Meadors shared a picture of ‘what I got’, exposing the massive faux pas on her neck left by the tattoo artist.

The tattoo spelled “HODWY”.

Meadors was left with a typo on her neck.

On the positive side, at least it was written in a similar font.

Perhaps she could start her own greeting, it may not catch on, but it’s worth a shot.

As to be expected, Meadors was lost for words and shared her shock in her TikTok post.

“We got a good laugh,” she recalled.

However, people in the comments couldn’t help but laugh at the unfortunate inking.

“No autocorrect?” one person asked.

Another viewer joked: “Did you tip the artist.”

While a third person commented: “This always confuses me. Every piece I get tatted on my body I look at the stencil to make sure. Use a mirror if I have to. Hope they cover for free.”

A fourth cheeky comment said: “Always make sure your artist has graduated at lease 7th grade.”

And a fifth wrote: “Spellcheck please.”

Meadors also took to the comment section to provide a minor update on her situation, writing: “Y’all it ain’t that serious. I’m getting it covered up for free.”
