A Delta Airlines passenger shared a post explaining her reaction upon realising what the person in the seat next to her said about her appearance, in a text.

When it comes to flying, people may worry about being late for check-in, turbulence on the flight itself, or even losing their baggage while travelling.

But one TikToker has unlocked a new fear for eager travellers, after sharing the nastiness she encountered from someone sat next to her, without them even saying anything.

The mum-of-two is known for her lifestyle and family-based content on the platform, and she said that she couldn't 'stop crying' after seeing how her fellow passenger described her appearance in a text, while on a flight from Tampa, Florida, to New York City.

Vanessa, known on the social media platform as @soberspouse, said ahead of her two-hour flight that she couldn't stop crying after reading the message from the passenger to his mates, reading: "urgh HUGE woman sat next to me."

She explained: "I saw [because] I have eyes, and now I feel like a prisoner for the next [two] hours.

"Be kind. If you’re feeling so inclined, can you send me some love? I’ve lost 60+ lbs and have actually been feeling really good about myself."

The body-shaming text caused Vanessa to remain emotional throughout the flight, as she posted a short video with tears visibly running down her face to a remix of the song 'Jump Around'.

Another video filmed on board showed the mother wiping tears away, highlighting that 'flying while fat is hard', as an interview with The Mary Sue revealed how she noticed the hurtful text.

"As I approached my row, I made eye contact with the man in the window seat of my row. I could see the man in the window, visibly sigh and roll his eyes. That is immediately when my radar went up," she said.

Apparently, the text was 'right there in front of her face' after sitting down. Vanessa claimed that the man seemed to realise that the text was a step too far, and he reportedly sent a number of 'empty texts' to push the message up in the chat.

Some viewers said Vanessa for looking over his shoulder in the first place, but many expressed compassion for her feelings.

Vanessa explained that she 'didn't need two seats' and wasn't invading the man's space, even claiming that the man took more of her part of her seat rather than the other way around.

Since being posted to her over 5,000 followers, Vanessa has garnered over one million views, describing it as a 'little moment of lemons; which had been turned into so much lemonade for so many people'.

She thanked new followers for their support as she even admitted in a different video that the response she got from the public has helped her get through it all. She even claimed that the story helped 'restore her faith in humanity' after her tearful two-hour flight.
