Man who hasn't used shampoo for seven years shows off remarkable results

The internet were stunned by the reveal

A bloke who has been trying out a personal experiment for years now has finally revealed the long-awaited results.

The man, who goes by the handle Garden of Aidan on YouTube has shared with his 14.8k subscribers exactly what he was left with barnet-wise after seven whole years of not using shampoo.

The remarkable results have since stunned the internet, with many in total disbelief at what the final outcome was. Have a look:

The YouTube video is titled: "7 years no shampoo results," and first uploaded to the platform back in January of this year.

Its description reads: "7 years without shampoo, how has it affected my scalp and hair?"

In the three-minute-long clip, Aidan begins by telling viewers he was finally going to 'deliver the long overdue scalp update on the no shampoo lifestyle'.

"As of today, it's been over six years without any shampoo usage," he went on, "without any conditioner usage and we're just going to check out the scalp and hair health."

He then stitched a clip showing what his scalp previously looked like when he was using anti-dandruff shampoo on a regular basis.

His scalp appeared to be pretty inflamed and irritated with dry, flaky patches all over.

Aidan continued: "As you can see, we had a pretty grotesque flake infestation on my scalp. Now of course, I had to fix that problem quickly.

A lot has changed from Aidan's initial 'grotesque flake infestation' on his scalp.

"And the solution I chose was to try quitting shampoo completely."

So that is exactly what he did.

"I had good results," the YouTuber revealed. "The flakes cleared up pretty fast."

Once his hair regrew after being shaved at the time, it was 'actually healthier and better quality than it had been before' when Aidan was using shampoo.

He explained: "Now since then, I haven't gone back to shampoo at all and it's been over six years, as I said, and the hair quality has not diminished.

"In fact, I mean, I'm basking in the glory of this hair quality because I've got a pretty pristine scalp as well - no flakes definitely."

Aidan's current routine sees him wash his hair 'once a week' with 'cold water', admitting he's found it 'works perfectly'.

Aidan has since recommended other people to give the no shampoo lifestyle a try.

For anyone worried about their hair getting greasy if they stop the lathering, Aidan informed: "That's a problem that shampoo usage has actually created for itself in the first place.

"Because when you use shampoo, you strip away natural oils produced by your scalp called sebum and then, to compensate, your scalp produces more sebum."

Aidan concluded: "I definitely recommend giving this a try [and] persevering with it.

"I don't know exactly how long it will take before the grease subsides but it's worth a try."

Reckon you'll give it a go?
