People can't get over scarily 'accurate' simulation of an acid trip

Social media users said the clip was 'spot on'

If you have ever fancied trialling the effects of acid without actually taking the drug, apparently, this video will do the trick.

A host of people have promised that the short clip will give you a scarily 'accurate' idea of what a typical psychedelic experience actually looks like.

So, get ready to satisfy your curiosity about the distorted visuals that come with an LSD trip, without having to endure the mind-altering effects which are also part of the package.

Most people who dabble in acid do so to enjoy its powerful hallucinogenic properties, and perhaps trigger an intense emotional experience.

LSD - which stands for the drug's chemical name, lysergic acid diethylamide - will likely cause you to have a 'distorted view of objects and reality' during a trip, according to Talk to Frank.

It explains that the Class A substance can take a person on a long-lasting and 'very intense' trip, which usually last for several hours at the least.

"When you take LSD, there’s no way of knowing how you might feel or what kind of trip you’re going to go on," Talk to Frank states. "And once you start tripping, it’s difficult to control the effects."

After consuming acid, people tend to feel euphoric, giggly, energised, and in awe of the world around them, while colours, sounds objects and even their perception of time are all warped.

Users also often have vivid hallucinations, as the drug 'feeds off your imagination', making every individuals experience unique.

On the downside, LSD might make you feel confused, anxious, paranoid, frightened, and overwhelmed, while it can also exacerbate or trigger psychological problems.

Typically, the contents of your trip will largely depend on how much acid you take, your surroundings, who you’re with, how comfortable you are with them and your mood.

Although we can't replicate the mental journey that the drug might take you on, there are some people on the internet who don't mind taking a stab at recreating the visuals a lot of users often report seeing.

A 16 second clip was shared on Reddit alongside the declaration that it is 'an accurate depiction of tripping', and loads of people agreed.

It begins by showing a fairly mundane woodland path, surrounded by trees and greenery - but various patterns and colours begin to appear in the constantly-moving clip.

Social media users described how the ground appeared to be 'breathing' and almost 'alive', as the perspective of the path continuously alters.

It's a far cry from reality, anyway - and according to people on Reddit, it's a perfect depiction of an average acid trip.

One person wrote: "I would agree that this is accurate!"

Another commented: "HOLY S**T. This is by far the most accurate depiction I’ve ever seen. Whoever made this, well done!!"

A third wrote: "The way the grass stands out and shifts hues is spot on."


While a fourth chimed in: "And yet the visuals are such a small part of the trip..."

Others who have never experienced an acid trip in real life also shared their thoughts on the footage.

One wrote: "I get terrible motion sickness so this doesn’t seem like a good time! I feel nauseous just watching this."

A second said: "This seems awful and disorienting. Zero interest in doing psychedelics lol."

A third added: "God that would give me a panic attack lmao. Ya’ll have fun!"

And a fourth smiled: "Cool. Now I don't need to do psychedelics!"
