People frustrated after not being able to see terrifying woman in viral photo

The eerie face isn't visible to everyone

An optical illusion of two little girls has left people frustrated as they struggle to find the face of the terrifying woman hidden inside.

There's nothing like a good optical illusion to distract you from the last few hours of the working week, is there?

The picture has been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks after being shared on Twitter - sorry Elon, I mean X - where it's caught the attention of thousands of users.

You might need to ditch your glasses to see the image.

The picture looks to be quite a wholesome one at first glance, showing a blonde-haired and a brown-haired girl sitting next to one another, with the blonde girl's face turned to look at her friend.

Just two kids hanging out. Cute, right? Maybe not if you have anything less than 20/20 vision.

Those who always walk away from the opticians smug with the knowledge that they don't need glasses or contact lenses probably won't be able to see anything scary about the image, but those with more blurred vision will likely be able to see a third face in the image.

So, which category do you fall in to?

X users have been left divided as some can see the face straight away, while others struggle to see it no matter how much they try.

"For the life of me, I can't see it," one person responded after scrutinising the picture.

Another questioned: "What’s it suppose to look like? What am I missing?"

Those who can see the entire optical illusion should be able to see a terrifying-looking woman with a pale white face and dark eyes glaring out to the left of the picture.

She's hidden in the hair and body of the blonde girl, and is admittedly easier to spot once you know she's there - though that doesn't make her any less creepy.

"If I take my glasses off I can see it!," one person responded, while another advised 'blurring your vision' to be able to see the creepy face.

If you're still struggling, we've edited the picture slightly to make the face a bit more clear - check it out below:

The side of the blonde girl's face forms the forehead of the woman, while a shadow in her hair and under her chin forms the woman's eyes. Towards the bottom of the hair is the nose, and a crease in the girl's t-shirt forms the mouth.

So, now that you know it's there, you'll also know that you probably could have lived without seeing that eerie, lifeless face, couldn't you?
