History made on 1% Club as 12 contestants make it through to final round on 'easy' question

The 1% Club begins with 100 contestants, who compete to make it to the end and answer a question only 1% of the country can get right.

The 1% Club has made history in their most recent episode as 12 contestants made it through to the final round on an 'easy question'.

Comedian Lee Mack hosts the quiz show which begins with 100 contestants, who all compete to make it to the end by answering a question only 1 percent of the country can get right.

While the winner has the chance to take home up to £100,000, it seems that for the first time in the show's history, 12 people made it to the end.

They were asked another question, which read: "The following four words have a hidden pattern in common. What is it? BEAR FARM CHIP SNAIL."

And the answer is that they are all body parts - bEAR, fARM, cHIP, sNAIL.

Pretty easy right? I didn't have a clue ngl.

After answering correctly, they were then all tasked with the decision to take home their share of under £10,000 each - or to play on and risk it all.

Although the group bravely decided to carry on with the game, only two people out of 12 ended up getting the final question right.

The '1% question' read: "What letter replaces the question mark in this sequence? YYHLY?YTRRRR."

If you haven't figured it out yet, the answer was 'E' ( June) as the sequence marks the last letters of each month of the year.

Although many of us would have found that impossible to guess, some viewers also thought the question was 'easy', as one person commented: "The show is far too easy."

While another said: "I wanna do this 1% club on ITV, it seems very easy."

Others were equally just as perplexed, as another person commented: "I didn’t get this. I’ll be honest. In hindsight I should have calculated the number of letters (values) in the sequence and realised it was relating to the yearly calendar.

"I actually thought they were initials to lyrics of a song. But bravo to both the eventual winners."

So the two winners who got the correct answer took home a whopping £47,500 each to use as they wish.

Earlier this week, we found out that the lad who won £99,999 on the ITV quiz show has revealed he’s not actually been paid yet, despite winning the cash when he filmed the programme almost a year ago.

On last weekend’s episode, 24-year-old Daniel O’Halloran make his way right through to the final, where he had the choice between going for the £10,000 or trying to win the £99,000 prize pot - successfully scoring the latter.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “A few articles have made it sound like I kept it a secret for personal gain but there was none of that.”

O’Halloran also said he’s still waiting on the cash, as it’s not due to go into his account until later this month.

He explained: “Even now I don't have the money because it comes in 30 days after the show airs.”
