For all the aspirational interior designers and architects out there, get ready because Channel Nine’s The Block is now accepting applications for its upcoming season.

Casting for the renovation reality series is now underway to find pairs ready to complete whatever epic challenges Scott Cam throws their way.

So, if you and your friend, sibling or hell, even that weird coworker who writes every email in Caps lock have jokingly floated the idea about applying, now is the time to put your money where your mouth is.

As per the application, all successful couples must be available for shooting over 10-12 weeks from early March 2023.

It also states that successful participants will be paid a nominal weekly fee during the filming of The Block to cover basic living costs and expenses.

In order to be considered, you must complete all elements of the application, which include videos and photos, as well as lengthy questions about you and your teammate.

If you’re lucky enough to make it into the second round, applicants will be invited for in-person or zoom interviews between now and before shooting commences.

The website also warns that the application takes a while to fill out, so you’ll definitely want to pencil in some time to smash it all out.

It reads: “This will take a while! If you thought we would make it easy to apply for The Block ... think again! This is a long application process which will require your time and attention.

“Don't worry, you don't need to get it all done in one sitting. You can come back, log back in and work on it in your own time. Just make sure you get it done by.”

And due to the sheer volume of hopefuls, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted, but for updates and progress, head to LUCKY BREAK CREATIVE on Instagram or Facebook.

While the location for the upcoming season is yet to be confirmed, it’s likely to be in Hampton East, 14 km from Melbourne's CBD.

Rumours began churning as Realestate.com.au reported that the show’s producers purchased five classic brick houses on Charming Street for $14.3 million between June 29 and July 1.

Applications must be completed by Monday, October 17, so get cracking, Blockheads!
