The BBC has pulled planned repeats of Ashley Cain: Into the Danger Zone after an investigation revealed a series of misogynistic tweets.
In the resurfaced tweets, TV presenter Cain uses abusive terms and sexualised language, referring to women as ‘s**ts’, ‘s**gs’, and ‘psychos’, as well making jokes about hitting women.
The BBC said it is taking the matter ‘seriously’ after the historic tweets were brought to the broadcaster’s attention by The Guardian.
Following the investigation, the BBC has removed planned repeats of Cain’s documentary series, which had been due to air next week.

A BBC spokesperson said: “We are very clear we expect the highest standards of behaviour from everyone who works with or for the BBC.

“When allegations are brought to our attention we take them seriously. We will consider this information carefully and do not intend to comment further at this stage.”
BBC Three’s Ashley Cain: Into the Danger Zone was released last year, and a second series has already been filmed.
LADbible understands that Into the Danger Zone 2 has not been scheduled for transmission at this stage and that the BBC was unaware the remarks had been posted on social media. The broadcaster finds the alleged comments ‘deplorable’ and is taking the matter ‘extremely seriously’, and is understood to have asked the independent production companies that hired Cain to review the social media checks undertaken at the time.

The Guardian’s investigation highlighted several tweets, including one from 2015 when he said he would ‘choke slam’ Love Island star Jessica Hayes ‘real quick’, and in 2014, he told another X user to ‘go and choke on a c**k you s**t’.
The newspaper stated there were a dozen or so other similar tweets.
Since the historic tweets were brought to light, Cain’s X account has been removed from the platform entirely.
Cain began his career as a footballer before moving into reality TV when he appeared on MTV’s Ex on the Beach between 2014 and 2015.
Alongside his Into the Danger Zone series, Cain has also appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Celebrity Masterchef.
He’s also known for his fundraising work following the death of his daughter Azaylia, who tragically died at just eight-months old after being diagnosed with acute lyeloid leukaemia.
LADbible has reached out to Cain's representative for comment.
