Ben Stiller, Matthew McConaughey, and Robert Downey Jr. are ‘in talks’ to reprise their Tropic Thunder roles

The actors could soon star in a spin-off movie about Les Grossman.

Ben Stiller, Matthew McConaughey, and Robert Downey Jr. are reportedly 'in talks' to reprise their roles from Tropic Thunder.

The three stars were brilliant in the iconic film and it looks like we could see them in a spin-off movie focusing on Tom Cruise's hilarious character Les Grossman.

An industry insider has told FandomWire that Stiller, McConaughey and RDJ are in the early stages of discussions for the project.

The details of how involved they will be has not been revealed as of yet, but we're just thrilled to hear legendary Les won't be going at it alone.

It was recently revealed that Tom Cruise was keen reviving his Tropic Thunder character with Hollywood producer Christopher McQuarrie.

The two have a few new projects on the go at the moment, including a fresh look at good old Les.

They're reportedly ‘fixated’ on the over-the-top producer with a fiery temper from Tropic Thunder.

If Stiller McConaughey and RDJ do reprise their roles, it will be interesting to see how they handle Downey Jr's character.

The Iron Man star played Kirk Lazarus in the 2008 film, an Australian actor who wore black face to portray an African American soldier. Yikes.

While the actor claimed his mum was 'horrified' over the role, it seems the wider industry didn't mind as the actor received an Academy Award nomination for the 2008 performance.

So that will be one to keep an eye on.

Stiller played Tugg Speedman, a pampered action superstar, while McConaughey played his slimy agent, Rick Peck.

Considering legendary Les was only in a few scenes, you'd think Cruise and McQuarrie would struggle to create a Grossman spinoff centred around the character.

However, it was rumoured that the Les almost did very nearly get its own movie back in the day.

According to Screen Rant, the reaction to Cruise's cameo was so well-received that it was actually scripted but obviously never happened.

Fans lapped up Les as the role was a pretty massive departure from Cruise's usual action-hero-hunk schtick.

Coupled with a bald cap, and excessive prosthetics, Cruise was almost unrecognisable as Les Grossman. But audiences lapped it up.

Grossman managed to stand out with his outburst, love of Diet Coke, and incredible dance technique, especially to that of ‘Low’ by Flo Rida.

Bring on more legendary Les, we reckon.
