Mia Khalifa has had an unusual career path to date, moving from being the most searched performer on adult streaming site PornHub to co-hosting a daily YouTube sports show.

After rising to fame in the adult industry, she faced criticism from her childhood home of Lebanon and even received death threats from terrorist group ISIS.

Now speaking with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong on his The Forward Podcast show, Khalifa has admitted that entering porn was a 'huge mistake' and the threats are what pushed her to leave the industry. After all, who wouldn't freak out after being sent mocked-up pics of their own beheading?

"It all started to spiral out of control when the death threats from ISIS started coming in," she told Armstrong. "That's when I stepped away.

"As soon as I started to gain popularity that's when I was like, 'Get the fuck out of this. This was not what I was trying to do whatsoever.' I just wanted to let loose and rebel a little bit.

"It didn't validate me. Nothing like that ever does. That's not what you should be doing to try and build your self-esteem."

Khalifa also spoke with Armstrong about her decision to quit her role as co-host of Complex sports show Out of Bounds after just two months in order to move on to new business ventures.

Khalifa explained that the show's West Coast location just wasn't for her and that she will now be launching her own show on streaming platform Twitch.

"I didn't want to be in LA," Khalifa epxlained. "It was my dream job but I walked away when I realised I wouldn't watch my own show.

"I love Complex but they were understanding when I said they wanted to leave."

Mia added that she is even considering following in model Chrissy Teigen's footsteps and pursuing a side-career as a cook and writer.

"I'm a cook - I've been cooking since I could walk, all different cuisines," Khalifa said. "I'm in process of writing sample chapters. It's a story of my life through recipes."

Khalifa was a controversial figure on Out Of Bounds, particularly for her views on wrestling which she called 'embarrassing' and 'fake'.

Khalifa particularly criticised Ronda Rousey's switch from UFC to WWE, insisting that she had no respect for the sport.

WWE star Eva Marie later came onto Out Of Bounds to defend wresting to Khalifa, saying: "You have to put your body through a lot of physicality with wrestling.

"You're saying you think it's fake - however, when you get in the ring, you're really taking those bumps."

No doubt whatever Khalifa gets up to next, she'll attract plenty of attention - and hopefully not death threats.
