Millie Bobby Brown has broken down in tears discussing an uncomfortable encounter with a pushy fan. Watch the video here:

The Stranger Things star opened up about the unpleasant interaction, which saw a fan approach her and ask to take a video of her while she was Christmas shopping with her mum.

In a video posted on her Instagram stories, the 16-year-old said: "She said, 'Can I take a video of you?' I said, 'Um, no.'

"But why would anyone want to be taken a video of? Of me? It's not like of the both of us.

"I don't need to justify it to anyone; if I don't want to be taken a video of, I don't have to be."

However, the fan ignored Brown and proceeded to film her without her consent.

Brown said: "I was paying and she walked past me and began to video me again - and I said, 'I'm a human being, like, what more can I ask from you?'

"She said, 'So I can't take a video of a human being?' and I said, 'No, not when I said no.'

"It just makes me upset when people try to push the boundary, and I just wish people were more respectful."

Brown was clearly unsettled by the experience.

Wiping away tears, the British actor continued: "I'm still trying to navigate this all and it's still overwhelming.

"I will take a picture with you, but when you push the boundary, and try and fight me on it, where are my rights to say no?

"I'm making this video to say, you have to show more respect for others, no matter who they are, what they do, show respect."

Brown subsequently assured fans she was OK, but felt 'emotional in the moment because [she] felt uncomfortable and disrespected'.

Three weeks ago, Brown posted an emotional tribute to her grandma Ruth, who passed away.

Brown said: "There's no words that make sense right now. There's no feeling to pinpoint.

"Loss is something so complex and I go through spells where I cant stop crying and then I laugh about all the memories and then sit quiet and try to comprehend what happened.

"Alzheimer's is evil. Its cruel. Taking away someone's ability to remember memories and then how to function like a human being. Its so hard to sit there and watch.

"I'll always be your Millie Moos. I hope you watch over me and protect me like you did when I was little."
