
Adam Driver was speaking to press earlier today (17 May) during the conference for his latest film Paper Tiger in Cannes.
Co-starring Scarlett Johansson, the flick directed by James Gray received a seven-minute standing ovation at its film festival premiere last night.
And while Driver may be known for films and blockbusters such as Star Wars and BlacKkKlansman, his career first broke through on TV in Girls in 2012.
Lena Dunham wrote and starred in the hit HBO show when she was just 23, with Driver playing one of her character Hannah’s boyfriends, Adam.

Previous rumours have been spiralled about the set over the years and in her recent memoir, Famesick, Dunham claimed Driver ‘hurled’ her and was ‘verbally aggressive’.
And so, as he faced press today, the 42-year-old was asked about the claims.

Driver pretty much brushed it off as he said plainly: “I have no comment on any of that. I’m saving it all for my book.”
This reportedly sparked some laughter at the press conference.
In Famesick, Dunham wrote that when it came to her relationship with Driver: “The more I knew him, the less I understood.”
Amongst her many claims about her co-star, is the suggestion he improvised during their first sex scene and ‘hurled’ her.
She claimed that when filming the scene ‘careful blocking went out the window and he hurled me this way and that’. Dunham: “Stunned, I couldn’t speak for a moment, unsure of what had happened — had I lost directorial authority, allowed the scene to go off the rails, not given proper instructions?
Elsewhere, she wrote: “I remember doing a fight scene with Adam and how scary it was to meet someone so totally present with such absence. Late one night, as we practiced lines in my trailer, I found that mine were suddenly gone.”

Dunham continued: “I knew I’d written them. I’d known them only minutes before. But when I opened my mouth, all that came out was a stammer — until finally, Adam screamed, ‘F**KING SAY SOMETHING’ and hurled a chair at the wall next to me. ‘WAKE THE F**K UP,’ he told me. ‘I’M SICK OF WATCHING YOU JUST STARE.’”
Having said that the pair haven’t spoken since Girls wrapped after six seasons in 2017, she also wrote: “He could be short-tempered and verbally aggressive, condescending and physically imposing,” but added that he “could also be protective, loving even.”
