'Total Eclipse of The Heart' hitmaker Bonnie Tyler is in a medically induced coma, her representatives have confirmed.
The music legend, 74, is currently in hospital in Faro, Portugal, and doctors hope this intervention will 'aid her recovery' after a health scare earlier this week.
It was announced on Wednesday (6 May) that Tyler had been rushed to hospital to have emergency intestinal surgery.
But the Welsh star was said to have been 'recuperating' after undergoing the operation in the Algarve, where she first bought a pad back in 1988.

Her representatives have then since confirmed that she has now been placed 'into an induced coma to aid her recovery', according to Page Six.

“Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery," a short statement from her manager said.
"We know that you all wish her well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please. We will issue a further statement when we are able to."
The news of Tyler's emergency surgery first emerged on Wednesday when a post shared to her Instagram account announced that she had been taken into hospital.
Sharing an update with fans about the 74-year-old's condition, the post said: "We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery.
“The surgery went well and she is now recuperating.
"We know that all of her family, friends and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery."

Tyler, whose real name is Gaynor Hopkins, shot to fame in the 1980s upon the release of her smash hit single 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart', which shot to the top of the charts in the UK and US.
Her trademark husky voice proved a serious hit among music fans, who sent her tracks such as 'Holding Out For A Hero', 'It’s A Heartache' and 'If You Were A Woman (And I Was A Man)' soaring up the charts.
The Grammy-nominated star is also due to tour Europe later this year to mark 50 years since the release of her 1976 breakthrough hit, 'Lost In France'.
Tyler is due to perform in Malta and Germany later this month, and her upcoming tour also includes shows across the UK, as well as in Austria, Hungary, Turkey and Romania.

The status of Tyler's upcoming tour currently remains uncertain.
The Welsh rocker represented the UK in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden, with the song Believe In Me, finishing in 19th place.
She was also made an MBE in 2023 for her services to music, after being named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
LADbible has contacted Tyler's representatives for further comment.
