Comedian Carrot Top rushed to hospital after emergency and multiple shows cancelled
Two shows for the comedian Carrot Top, real name Scott Christopher Thompson, have been cancelled after the performer was said to be 'recovering'.
Carrot Top had shows scheduled for the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas but they are not going ahead after he was rushed to hospital yesterday (18 September).
A representative for the comedian said: "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
A spokesperson for MGM Resorts International said yesterday : "Scott is a beloved member of the Luxor and MGM Resorts family, and we are relieved to hear that he is recovering.

"We are thinking of him and wish him strength as he receives the care and support he needs."
The 61-year-old comedian gets his performing name from his distinctive red hair which has become one of his trademarks in the celebrity world.
His latest post on social media, which shows him posing in the Nevada desert next to an orange vehicle and calling it his 'average Thursday commute to the Luxor', has been flooded with praise and well wishes.
"Scott, we love you dude, praying for you," one wrote, while another told him he was 'loved more than you know', and so many others wrote comments saying how much he meant to them.
His comments said he'd 'got the world cheering for you' as they said they hoped he was recovering well and they'd see him perform again.
The comedian has been performing for decades, starting back when he was a college student before breaking through on the show Comic Strip Live in 1991.
He's made a number of TV appearances including in the likes of Scrubs where he's typically appeared as himself, while Cartoon Network fans from the 90s will recognise his voice as their continuity announcer during that time.
Those of you who watched the fourth Sharknado movie will also recognise him from that.
Carrot Top has had a residency at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas since 2005 and has been performing his show there on and off for over 20 years now.
He's known for his prop-based comedy mixed in with stand-up segments, with him often dragging a big box of props onto stage for his performances which he'll dig into when he wants to use them for a joke.
