Charlotte Chilton has claimed she’s solved the ‘mystery’ around her child’s paternity.
Despite DNA tests suggesting otherwise, she is standing firm on the theory Conor Maynard is the father of her daughter, Penelope, or Penny for short.
Over the summer, a second paternity test confirmed the singer to not be the baby’s dad as he said he was glad to ‘finally draw a line’ under the ‘difficult’ time. There has been speculation about the paternity for the past year and a half – both before and after Chilton gave birth in October last year.
Chilton and Maynard were introduced at the wrap party for The Traitors in early 2024, when Chilton was a contestant alongside Harry Clark – the boyfriend of Maynard’s younger sister, Anna. Maynard has previously held back from addressing speculation with the TV star.

Now, it seems Chilton is suggesting a rare medical condition could mean he is the dad.

In August, a second test was conducted as the first test suggested an ‘unidentified male’ was present when his sample was collected.
But with it being found he was not the father, Maynard issued a statement on Instagram: “As Charlotte requested, Penelope's, Charlotte's and my DNA were all taken at a Ministry of Justice-accredited DNA testing facility that was selected by Charlotte. The results are therefore conclusive.
“This has been difficult for me and my family, and I'm so grateful for everyone's support. I'm glad we can now finally draw a line under this. I sincerely hope these results mean we can all find a way to move on with our lives. Conor.”

However, Chilton has consistently maintained her little ‘miracle’ could have only been conceived during her one-night stand with Maynard, as she hadn’t slept with anybody else.
“I have researched and researched trying to find the answers because I know for a fact that the only person who can be my daughter’s father is Conor Maynard,” she told The Sun in a new interview.
“And finally, after speaking to experts I have found out that what might have happened is I could have been carrying twins but lost one very early.
“Then strange genetics come into play which means that twin could have taken certain DNA so her father could never show up on a paternity test. It is something called chimerism.”
Chilton said it ‘made some sense’ to her, as there are twins in her family.

“That’s why I keep thinking, was Penny a twin or something, because twins can make a difference to the paternity result and there are generations and generations of my family with twins,” she added.
As people question her legitimacy with the scientific tests ‘proving’ Maynard not to be father she says she is ‘saying it because I know it is true’.
“I am speaking to experts to see what we can do now to prove that he is the father,” Chilton said.
“Penny has a striking resemblance to someone that on paper is not her father. Even the day we slept together is the conception date.”
