Cher has been pretty blunt about the reason why she only dates younger men.
The 77-year-old is currently in a relationship with 38-year-old record executive Alexander 'AE' Edwards, and on The Jennifer Hudson Show, she said she wanted to date men who 'were raised by women like me'.
Cher explained that this would mean they weren't scared of her, and confessed that she was 'really shy when I'm not working' so she wasn't used to making the first move.
The singer had previously been in other relationships with younger men, and after people commented on the age difference in her current relationship on social media, she wrote 'LOVE DOESNT KNOW MATH, IT SEES' and then the heart emoji.

She did later admit that 'on paper it's kind of ridiculous' but insisted that 'in real life we get along great'.
During her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, she also gave another pretty grim response to her lack of relationships with men her age.
She said: "And the reason I got with young men is because men my age or older - well, now they're all dead.
"But before they just never, they were always terrified to approach me."
She's not the only older celebrity to say that she'd only really consider a relationship with a younger partner, and indeed many famous figures seem to have quite significant age gaps with their significant others, but when Jane Fonda said it she clarified she was joking.
In another appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Cher said that another reason was that older men didn't like her much.
She said: "If I hadn't met younger men in my life, I would have never had a date, because older men just didn't like me all that much, do you know what I mean?
"Younger men don't care if you're, you know, funny or outrageous and wanna do stupid things and, you know, and you have a strong personality, you know?
"I mean I'm not giving up my personality for anybody, okay?"
However, she has been in relationships with older men as her first marriage was to fellow performer Sonny Bono, with them singing together as 'Sonny and Cher'.
He was several years older than her when they tied the knot, and indeed for the remainder of his life because that's how the aging process works.
Cher and her current partner split up in May 2023, but got back together again later in the year.
