I don't think Dax Shepard expected Cher to cook him on his very own podcast.
The 'Goddess of Pop', 79, appeared as a guest on a recent episode of the Armchair Expert podcast alongside Shepard's wife and her Burlesque co-star Kristen Bell.
The Good Place actor, 45, has been married to the comedian, 51, since 2013, some time after Shepard came out of a nine-year open relationship.
However, Bell's recent comments about their dynamic received a fair bit of backlash online after she said she wouldn't be too bothered if Shepard had an affair.

As reported by The Sun, the mum-of-two said: “Kind of who cares, to be honest? I also know we’re monkeys. We’re both attracted to other people. We’re married. We’re not dead. But I don’t know that everyone has the privilege of this much confidence in their relationship.”

While Shepard hilariously shut down the 'swinger' rumours on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2024, it appears his latest podcast guest wasn't shy to poke fun at his relationship.
Cher's savage dig at Dax Shepard
He jokingly asked the 'After All' hitmaker about her views on his wife: “Who would be your dream partner for her? 'Cause I know you think she could be better, and I don't disagree.”
After the singer said she had no idea, Bell pressed her: "You've never thought about that?"

While Cher didn’t respond directly, she made a dig at Shepard by joking: “The truth is, I trust her. So you must have something that I don't see.”
Shepard laughingly replied: "Yeah. There you go. There it is."
Shepard's reassurance of his relationship with Kristin Bell
He then reassured her: “I'll tell you the thing that you should like about me. I'm not threatened by her shining. Love it. The shinier she gets, the better.”
Cher said Shepard's comments also apply to her longtime boyfriend, Alexander 'AE' Edwards.

“Alexander is that way too. The more I shine, the more he has won,” Cher noted.
“Guys who polish you so you shine more,” added Bell.
As things were coming to an end, Shepard expressed his love for Cher, telling her: “I adore you, and I understand nobody's good enough for her.”
Bell agreed: “He’s almost too good for me,” referring to him as a 'slow burn'.
It comes after Shepard admitted in a previous episode that he used to have a ‘horrendous history of cheating’.
“I think, 'I could blow this whole thing up'. That's certainly something I've done. And now, the whole world is watching. There is a stress about that for me," he said.
