Chris Brown's UK tour could be in doubt after he has been remanded in custody over an allegation of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The American singer had arrived in Manchester earlier this week, ahead of starting his UK dates for the Breezy Bowl XX tour in the city next month.
Yesterday (15 May), Metropolitan Police detectives arrested him at Manchester's Lowry Hotel and took him into custody. It was then confirmed that he would appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (16 May).

His hearing was delayed by around two hours, and too many members of the press and public showed up to fit in the court, with a video link screening it in a second.
Adele Kelly, the deputy chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, said of the charges: "We have authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Chris Brown with one count of grievous bodily harm, contrary to section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861."

The judge ruled Brown to be remanded in custody until 13 June after prosecutor Hannah Nicholls alleged that he had committed 'an unprovoked attack with a weapon in a nightclub full of people', according to Sky News.
His tour is due to start in Holland on 8 June, whilst he was also scheduled to play in Manchester on 15 June.

The deputy chief crown prosecutor added that the alleged incident occurred in London on 19 February 2023.
"The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against this defendant are active and that he has the right to a fair trial,” Kelly said.
"It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings."
LADbible contacted Brown’s reps and Live Nation for comment.

Many of his fans waited outside the court, as one woman, 35, told the BBC that she had followed the singer since she was 14 and was 'here to support him'.
"I love his music, his voice," she said. "Even my children are fans now."
Brown has experienced a number of legal issues throughout his music career which began in 2009.
On 8 February, 2009, Brown physically assaulted his then girlfriend Rihanna while on their way to a pre-Grammys event. The 'What's My Name' singer, then 21, was left with visible injuries to her face and was hospitalised as a result.
Brown, who was 20 at the time, plead guilty to felony assault and accepted a deal of 1,400 hours of community service, five years' probation and domestic violence counselling.
