Celebrities and political leaders across the world have been paying tribute to Charlie Kirk after he was killed last week, but it seems as if some Marvel fans weren't too happy with the comments of Chris Pratt.
The 46-year-old, who plays Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy, posted on X after news of Kirk's shooting first broke, asking fans to pray for the 31-year-old, before his death was sadly confirmed later that day.
He wrote: "Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us."
Kirk, who was known for founding the conservative political group Turning Point, as well as his all-action debates, was killed on September 10 after being fatally shot while speaking at the Utah Valley University.

The father-of-two shared unquestionably racist, misogynistic and anti-LGBTQ views online, and a lot of Marvel fans were quick to point that out, with users questioning why he had remained silent amid other ongoing tragedies.

One user wrote: “Oh now you wanna say something like there hasn’t been anything worse happening in the world."
Another said: "Anyway we ain't gonna watch anything you're in. Leave Marvel alone."
However, Pratt has now doubled down on his stance, sharing a Bible verse on his Instagram page, seemingly in response to those who criticised him praying for Kirk and his family.

“Hey guys, just stop real quick and pray with me,” he said before reciting.

“Okay, now you can continue scrolling or you can turn your phone off and go outside. Might I suggest the latter. Go get some sunshine. Go look at a tree, touch grass. Call a friend.
"If you’ve got time to be on your phone right now, you’ve got time to do your to-do list and you’ve got time to reach out to somebody in need. Share this prayer with them.”

Once again, the comments on social media were mixed, although many seemingly took a softer tone with Pratt as he simply shared a message of peace and encouraged people to speak to friends and family.

Meanwhile, the FBI believe that they've found the culprit behind Kirk's murder, identifying 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson as the alleged shooter, after taking him into custody late last week.
Kirk was a huge Donald Trump supporter, and the president labelled him an American hero in the wake of his death. Trump is expected to attend the activist's funeral in Arizona later this week.
LADbible has approached the representatives of Chris Pratt for comment.
