Conan O’Brien makes brutal Donald Trump penis comment at Oscars

The American comedian wasn't holding anything back

It wouldn't be the Oscars without some political jokes and last night's ceremony in Hollywood was no different.

While Matt Berry was working as the announcer for the 98th academy awards, and he had a great opportunity to call someone the most devious b*stard in Hollywood, it was host Conan O'Brien who decided to take aim at president Donald Trump.

Considering the goings on in the world right now, with the US at war with Iran while the White House social media accounts constantly posts controversial AI videos, it would have been remarkable if we didn't hear at least one joke about the 79-year-old last night.

Presenter Jimmy Kimmel was always going to joke about the president after their feud last year which saw him temporarily taken off air, while O'Brien was a little more subtle in his joke at the Dolby Theatre.

He said: "We're coming to you live from the small penis theatre. Let's see him put his name in front of that."

I’m worried that trump is going to send @ConanOBrien to Gitmo.

Although that could be interpreted in many ways, most seem to agree that it is referencing the much-disputed decision to put Trump's name in front of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts at the end of last year, with the iconic landmark changing its name for the first time since it was built and dedicated to John F. Kennedy.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on social media that the board voted unanimously to make the change due to 'the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building'.

Leavitt also congratulated JFK and wrote 'this will be a truly great team long into the future! The building will no doubt attain new levels of success and grandeur'.

Considering Donald Trump threatened to sue Trevor Noah after he made a joke about the Epstein list during the Grammys, it wouldn't be that surprising if O'Brien wakes up to a legal letter this morning after his latest quip, even if he didn't specify who it was about.

O'Brien has previously had his say on the Trump presidency and explained why he tries to be a bit more crafty when it comes to making jokes about the political situation in the US.

He said: "Some comics go the route of, 'I'm gonna just say F Trump all the time,' or that's their comedy. Now, a little bit, you're being co-opted. Because you're so angry, you've been lulled into just saying 'F Trump, F Trump, F Trump, screw this guy.' I think now you've put down your best weapon, which is being funny. And you've exchanged it for anger."

He added: :That person, or any person like that, will say, 'Well, things are too serious now! I don't need to be funny.' And I think, well, if you're a comedian, you always need to be funny. You just have to find a way. You just have to find a way to channel that anger... because good art will always be a great weapon. It will always be a perfect weapon against power."

Meanwhile, during the actual awards, Sinners and One Battle After Another were the big winners, with Michael B Jordan (Sinners) and Jessie Buckley (Hamnet) claiming the illustrious best actor and actress awards.
