Daniel Radcliffe has revealed he sent a letter to the next actor set to play Harry Potter, and that he received a heartwarming reply from him.
Radcliffe’s relationship with Harry Potter has at times seem strained in recent years due to his public feud with JK Rowling, with the author saying she would ‘never forgive’ him, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
However, he's shown he is still open to discussing Harry Potter by revealing the sweet letter to the next actor to take on the role, Dominic McLaughlin, who will be the star of the upcoming HBO series.
Many fans will take this as renewed hope that Radcliffe may play some part in the HBO TV series adaptation of the books, but some remain sure that Radcliffe’s feud with Rowling will prevent this from happening.
What did Radcliffe say to next Harry Potter actor in his letter?

The Harry Potter film actor spoke on Good Morning America, stating that the letter he had sent was due to not wanting to be ‘a spectre in the life of these children’.
He said: “I just wanted to write to him to say, ‘I hope you have the best time, and an even better time than I did — I had a great time, but I hope you have an even better time.’
“I do, I just see these pictures of him and the other kids and I just want to hug them.

“They just seem so young. I just look at them and say, ‘Oh it’s crazy I was doing that at that age.’
“But it’s also incredibly sweet and I hope they’re having a great time.”
He added that McLaughlin had sent back a ‘very sweet note’.
What has Radcliffe said about returning to HBO’s Harry Potter?
While many may see this acknowledgement from Radcliffe as a chance he may be returning for the show, it would be wise not to get your hopes up.
Radcliffe spoke to ComicBook.com in the past where he did not seem to completely rule it out, but seemed to think there was very little chance.
He said: “My understanding is that they're trying to very much start fresh and I'm sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere.

“So I'm definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I'm very excited to have that torch passed. But I don't think it needs me to physically pass it.”
Whilst many would love to see Radcliffe join Warwick Davis in returning to the show, perhaps to play Sirius or James Potter, but in another interview with E! News the actor added when asked about returning: “I don't think so, I think they very wisely want to [have] a clean break. And I don't know if it would work to have us do anything in it.”
